Nominations Released – Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes 2012

Nominations have been released for the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes, which is due to run at Caulfield Racecourse this Sunday September 30, 2012.

Included in the 2012 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes nominations is Glass Harmonium, who has the number one ballot for the $400,000 race.

Glass Harmonium  has won five of his 24 race starts and has earned close to $1.25 million in prize money.

The seven-year-old will be having his first spring start in the 2012 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes after a winter-long spell.

The Verglas entire finished seventh in his most recent start in the Group 1 Australian Cup, which was won by Manighar in March.

Glass Harmonium will be looking to recreate the events of last spring, where he won the Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington.

He then went on to finish 22nd of 23 in the Group 1 Melbourne Cup next start.

Also included in the 2012 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes nominations is Pinwheel.

Pinwheel has won 12 of his 34 race starts and has earned more than $1.07 million in prize money.

The Lonhro gelding won the Group 3 Missile Stakes two runs back, before winning the Group 2 Warwick Stakes last start.

Pinwheel will be out to win his first Group 1 title of his career in the 2012 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.
